8/10/13 LB Fluke Anchor Kit with 100 FT Nylon Rope, Chain and Shackles, Danforth Anchor for Pontoon, Dinghies, Fishing and Bass Boats 12-32 FT

I got this as sometimes we beach ourselves when our fishing for the day. This gave me a piece of mind that is would anchor my boat and hold it! The stability, not having the boat bouncing around...the portability and being able to move it from spot to spot...the size being small, lightweight and great appearance...it all adds up to being so so worth it! The material is solid, great quality and durability! Overall, great value for the money and highly recommend!

This is a decent boat anchor but the rope included could be better quality. This anchor is designed to grab no matter which side it lands on. The chain is good but you definitely want to be careful when dropping this anchor from your boat because you can scratch the side of your boat with the chain if you're not careful. The rope included could be better quality with a more smooth surface to protect your boats paint and a larger diameter to insure that will hold up to the weight. I would recommend swapping out the D-shackles for stainless steel locking carabiners because they're less likely to become unhooked resulting in a lost anchor.

We picked up the 8-pound version to use as the front anchor on our pontoon boat. We already run a second anchor off the back when we plan to stay in one spot for a while, so this anchor's main job is helping keep the bow where we want it.So far, it has done a good job holding the front of the boat in position. We have used it during a few lake outings, and it has set reasonably well when paired with our rear anchor. I also like that the kit comes ready to use with the rope, chain, and hardware included rather than having to purchase everything separately.The 100-foot rope gives plenty of length for most situations we've encountered, and the anchor is manageable to handle without feeling overly heavy when pulling it back into the boat. Everything needed was included right out of the box, including the anchor, chain, rope, and shackles, making setup quick and easy. I selected the #8/8-pound Fluke Anchor Kit with 100-foot nylon rope, chain, and shackles for my 12-foot fishing boat. The kit includes everything needed to get started, including the Danforth-style fluke anchor, a 6.5-foot chain, two shackles, and a 100-foot nylon rope. I appreciated not having to purchase additional components separately, and it was ready to use right out of the box.My boat is a very lightweight 12-foot poly plastic fishing boat, so this anchor is actually a little heavier than I originally expected. That said, I absolutely love how well it holds. During my first day using it, the sharp flukes dug in quickly, and the weight of the chain helped the anchor set fast and stay put. Even with some wind and movement on the water, the boat remained securely anchored without drifting around.The materials seem very durable and built to last. The galvanized steel anchor and chain have a solid, heavy-duty feel, and the nylon rope appears strong and resistant to wear. It is not a braided rope, if that is important to you. However, the rope has appropriate stretch to help absorb shock from waves and boat movement, which provides additional peace of mind when anchored if you are on a larger, busy lake with speed boats. Although I've only used the anchor for one day so far, my initial impression is that it is a quality setup and a long-term anchor solution. It is good, heavy - duty quality overall. The chain is heavy and adds to the anchoring stability.One thing I did notice is that the shackles do not have especially deep threads. To avoid any chance of them loosening over time and potentially losing the anchor, I recommend applying a red thread-locking compound before fully tightening them. The chain links are tight and secure, and this appears to be a lifetime, long-lasting purchase. It will endure!!!!The only downside for me is that the combined weight of the anchor and chain requires a fair amount of physical effort to handle. Dropping it is manageable, but pulling it back up from the bottom definitely takes some exertion, especially from a small lightweight boat. I'm still looking for an easy solution on my particular boat for deploying and retrieving the anchor.Even with that minor challenge, the holding power is excellent, and I'd much rather have an anchor that is a little heavy and keeps my boat securely in place than one that is easier to lift but doesn't hold as well. Based on my first outing, I am very pleased with this anchor kit and look forward to relying on it, especially when fishing way points!
