Great addition and will save your blacks if you use the plastic type
I use them when using any stationary jack. They keep from damaging whatever surface (pavement, concrete, dirt etc...) the vehicle being jacked up is on. They are seem to be well built and take the abuse I give them as I am rough on my tools as I expect them to handle everyday use and then some. I also use them as knee pads or put 4 to 6 together as work surface to lay on.I really like the fact they spread and stabilize the load of the vehicle. I feel safer under a vehicle when using these.
We purchased 6 pads, this our second trip using them and 3 of them are falling apart. They do t hold up under the pressure of hydraulic jacks.
